Preview: MUNA is Coming in Hot to Texas

Pop trio MUNA is taking their 'Gets So Hot' tour to Austin’s Moody Amphitheater on Sept. 19 and Dallas’ The Bomb Factory on Sept. 20, with support from singer-songwriter Hemlocke Springs.

MUNA has been booked and busy this year. This summer, the Los Angeles-based trio composed of Katie Gavin (she/her), Josette Maskin (she/they) and Naomi McPherson (they/them), has taken the stage at Lollapalooza, Hinterland Festival, and Capitol Hill Block Party. The band recently played to a sold-out crowd at the GRAMMY Museum, performing songs from its album, Dancing on the Wall, alongside Emmy Award-winning actress Hannah Einbinder, and answered questions about the album’s production. Ahead of its ‘Gets So Hot’ tour, which starts this week, MUNA made a special appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this weekend with an alluring performance of “Dancing on the Wall.”

Coming off fresh from their 2022 self-titled album, MUNA hit the ground running with its fourth studio album, Dancing on the Wall, which was released earlier this year and CLASH described as “a striking testament of the group’s creative diction and collaborative power.” Produced by the trio’s very own Naomi McPherson, with Josette Maskin’s impressive pop-technique contributions and Katie Gavin’s addicting vocals, the dance-pop album is a sonic masterpiece that perfectly encapsulates the complexities of the young adult experience. Whether fans are looking for an outlet to soak in the thrill of connection or dance their heart out to a synth-pop sound, Dancing on the Wall has a song for them. MUNA is no stranger to touring. The band has opened for a variety of artists, ranging from Taylor Swift to Harry Styles. They have played numerous headlining tours and multiple main stages at major music festivals. Now, the band will bring its euphoric energy and community to Austin and Dallas, Texas, this Sunday, and across its headlining tour this fall in both North America and Europe.
