Venturing out into the unknown again? Better bring a pair of headphones.

Many commonplace attractions pre-COVID are reopening in autumn, marking a divergence from the way we used to enjoy outings. Going places alone, masked and vaxxed, is much more acceptable now, even though it may bring a feeling of discomfort. This playlist includes songs that invoke an eerie feeling of tranquility like Weyes Blood’s “Movies.” Alternating between lyric-free instrumentals like “S.T.A.Y.” by Hans Zimmer, reverbing psychedelic pop like “Yes I’m Changing” by Tame Impala, and softer ballads such as La Loye’s “I’m Still Asleep,” this playlist encompasses the loneliness and sometimes other-worldly feelings of going through a museum alone, surrounded by beauty, and unable to share it with anyone.
